Chlorophyll
©Anne Calzada Herbalist

Chlorophyll. What is it? Why do you hear me say it a lot? Chlorophyll is life. Literally. Plants create chlorophyll through photosynthesis via their leaves and the nourishing rays of the Sun. The Sun gives life. Chlorophyll is the green pigment that makes plants green. The Greek meaning says “chloros” means green and “phyllon” means leaf. Aw! Green leaf!  Interestingly enough, chlorophyll and hemoglobin are actually only separated by one atom! With chlorophyll the center atom is magnesium and with hemoglobin the center atom is iron.
Chlorophyll is cleansing to the system. The endocrine glands will communicate more clearly. Chlorophyll will decalcify your pineal gland, so that your connection to God will be clearer and the rest of your glands will communicate more efficiently without chemicals and metals lodged in them. The liver and kidneys will be able to filter and cleanse the bloodstream more efficiently. The lungs will appreciate the removal of waste that this nutrient will assist with. Green is the color of Anahata, the heart chakra. The heart chakra rules the respiratory and cardiovascular systems and they thrive on green plants!
Chlorophyll is well known for removal of chemicals, metals and toxic wastes in the bloodstream. Chlorophyll has the power to neutralize these carcinogens because it strengthens the body's own reserve to do it. This makes it deodorizing to the body.
Clorophyll helps to rebuild the body and infuse you with nutrients. Super rich in beta carotene, which is
converted to Vitamin A in the body. Minerals, trace minerals, vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants. There are lots of sources of this nutrient available. The more chlorophyll the better, you can not get “too much”. There is no toxicity of it.
Where do you find it? What is it?
First of all, the more plants that we eat and drink, the healthier we are. More herbal teas and cooking with them. Eat them raw. Learn about wild edible plants and incorporating them into your daily meals. I am a huge proponent of harvesting "weeds". Weeds that provide free food and medicine that other people try to kill from their lawns do to lack of knowledge.  Add them to smoothies, salads, soups, sandwiches, lasagnas, rice, stir frys, pickling them, whatever. The more plants the better! Knowledge is power. Let's not eradicate every wild plant that shows up in our yard! Let's learn about their personalities and vibrational signature. One may be trying to get your attention!
The herbalists say that whichever plant shows up by your door is an indication of what medicine that you may be working on. In other words, the plant that you need, shows up!
Land sources are spinach, kale, parsley, greens, wild edible herbs, sprouts, barley-grass, or wheat-grass.
Water sources are blue green algae, spirulina, chorella or seaweeds.

If you are looking for a higher supplementation ratio, you can purchase chlorophyll in different forms from powder to tablet. It comes from many different sources and sometimes they are mixed and sometimes they are isolated, but they are always life affirming!

Chlorophyll saves because it gives you life!
