The Recycled Pine Tree

   If you had a real live Tree for Christmas, you can still keep some of it with you in your home! I was Blessed to have a Pine tree cut from behind my house this year. So beautiful, I have been slow to clear it out! Now that I am Winter cleaning the house, I was thinking about what to do with it. I stripped some needles off and will burn the rest of the tree in my woodstove. The needles that I did strip, I decided to use as a base for some herbal potpourri! You can use any plant material that you have...

 

   I added Cloves, Cinnamon powder, Nutmeg powder, Pine needles, Orange essential oil and a Pine Cone! Smells divine! Other awesome choices would be Citrus slices, Eucalyptus, Spruce needles, Fir needles, Roses, Lavender, Chamomile, Yarrow, Geranium, Juniper, Frankincense, Myrrh, Peppermint, Spearmint, Sagebush, White Sage, Anise, Fennel, Patchouli. Use a base of plants and add a few drops of essential oil to boost the aroma!
