Probiotic Wellness

Spring is here and new life begins. All of life becomes alive and that includes all of life's living organisms as well, so this is a good time to discuss probiotics. Some of these pathogens can be invasive. Pathogens such as Candida for example. When thinking about the role of probiotics in our lives, we are beginning to understand the roll of healthy pathogens in our health.

It is becoming more mainstream to know about probiotics such as acidophilous. The media will tell you that you can achieve good health through yogurt etc... however sometimes yogurt is high in sugar or people are lactose intolerant of dairy. I have met several people lately who do not even know what acidophilous is. Thats fine. Let's get educated.

Acidophilous lactobacillus is the most popular of the probiotics. It is the one that the Doctor will tell you to purchase if you are taking antibiotics. The fact is that there many different strains, each serving its purpose.

Probiotics help the upper GI and lower GI tract assisting with digestion, elimination, acne, diarrhea, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, leaky gut, Crohn's disease, bloating, gas, chronic upset belly gurgling, vaginal health, yeast infections, halitosis, detoxification and immunity. This means that you will feel better and have a stronger, healthier body with good nutrient absorption and beautiful skin.

Probiotic strains work together to build colonies within your body that will keep yeast, bacteria and toxins from building up and causing more damage. Our Grandmas had it right. My German grandmother, Anna, was big on fermented foods such as sauerkraut. Foods that have probiotics are sauerkraut, yogurt, kombucha, fermented salsa, kim chi, kefir, miso soup. These are great to add to your diet every day for health and longevity. If, however, you are dealing with a chronic or acute condition, I would supplement with the capsules of probiotics, found at any health food store. This will ensure that you will receive a therapeutic dosage that is potent enough and effective for you and what you are healing.

Many Blessings,

Anne xo
